Issue
A local physician group acquired a group of eligible employees from a larger employer. While transitioning from a large group employer to a sub-100-life small group, the new employer faced the challenge of matching the benefits the eligible employees received from their previous employer. The CBIZ team quickly implemented a benefits plan and administration strategy to maintain the status quo and avoid any gaps in coverage.
Solution
CBIZ implemented the following strategies to meet the needs of eligible employees:
- Worked to curate a benefits plan to match the employees’ benefits from their previous large group employer.
- Provided education to the physician group’s HR team.
- Enhanced prior individual disability insurance (IDI) offerings through an in-house advisor.
- Integrated Maxwell and Paylocity human capital management software.
- Provided FSA/HSA/COBRA integration.
- Added LegalShield to employees’ voluntary benefits offerings.
Outcome
As a result of these strategies, CBIZ retained new eligible employees who were transitioning from their previous organization. We enhanced benefits for current employees, expanded the benefits portfolio, and provided the HR team with large-group technology solutions at no additional cost.
