February 2026 Recap | On The Margin

Following an eventful January, investors tried to process various new headlines in February, including: 1) concerns about the impact of artificial intelligence on the enterprise software industry, as well as the follow up effects within private credit markets; 2) the U.S. Supreme Court ruling to overturn the Trump administration’s sweeping global tariffs; 3) escalating tensions between the U.S., Israel, and Iran, which ultimately turned into military conflict at the end of the month. Global markets experienced diverging performance during February as a result, with U.S. stocks generating mixed results, while international stocks and fixed income moved higher.
