Supporting Growth Through Every Benefits Transition

Issue

The client began with just two employees and experienced significant growth over time. CBIZ remained diligent in evaluating funding options, moving the company’s medical plan to a level-funded arrangement when it reached 20 employees and transitioning to a fully insured plan at 50 employees. Following the completion of the term with its medical carrier, the team conducted a full market evaluation during a recent renewal and determined that a return to a level-funded arrangement was the optimal solution. The client’s growth also required a transition from the small group practice to the large group practice.

Solution

As the client continued to grow, CBIZ regularly evaluated funding options to help ensure the benefits strategy remained aligned with the organization’s evolving needs. CBIZ added a technology solution at no cost through Employee Navigator. The team also evaluated additional voluntary benefits to enhance talent recruitment and retention as the client expanded. When new carriers were added, CBIZ held a virtual open enrollment meeting for all employees to help them understand their options and support a smooth transition. CBIZ also administered the client’s Section 125 plan.

Outcome

The client expanded its benefits offering by adding two additional medical plan options, increasing enrollment in those plans from 90 to 150 employees. CBIZ negotiated a technology credit with a new ancillary carrier to help offset payroll costs. The team also facilitated monthly claims review calls with the new medical carrier to support ongoing plan management and performance monitoring. CBIZ successfully transitioned the client from the small group service team to the large group service team.
