Issue
The organization faced common challenges that many IT teams encounter: managing aging on-premises infrastructure, reducing administrative overhead, and enhancing scalability.
Managing servers, networks, audio-visual systems, and workstations became more complex and resource-intensive. This highlighted the need for a flexible, cloud-based solution that could enhance scalability, availability, and disaster recovery.
Staff also struggled with persistent technical issues that often remained unresolved. These delays forced the internal IT team to prioritize urgent repairs over long-term planning and improvements.
To address these challenges, the organization sought a technology partner to modernize its infrastructure. The partner needed to facilitate a smooth cloud migration, reduce IT workload, and create a scalable, future-ready environment — allowing the team to focus on strategic priorities.
Solution
The client engaged a third-party advisor to initiate its search for a new managed service provider (MSP). After a thorough review, CBIZ was selected to lead the IT transformation.
The team prioritized a provider with experience supporting organizations of similar size and complexity. Multiple providers were evaluated based on business needs, technical expertise, and capabilities. CBIZ stood out for its deep understanding of the challenges and its clear, actionable IT strategy.
During onboarding and implementation, CBIZ ensured a smooth, transparent transition. The team was highly responsive, demonstrating how its solutions would improve operations. A key element was a proof of concept for the cloud desktop infrastructure, enabling staff to test the system firsthand. This hands-on approach reinforced the effectiveness of the proposed solutions.
The result is a stable, scalable, and secure IT infrastructure that supports future growth. Leadership praised CBIZ for delivering a seamless IT experience that exceeded their expectations.
Outcome
Thanks to CBIZ’s expertise, the organization now benefits from a modern, efficient IT environment that reduces daily operational challenges. The partnership allows IT staff to spend less time on routine tasks and more time on mission-critical initiatives.
Cloud migration and infrastructure modernization
CBIZ migrated the client’s infrastructure to a cloud-based environment using Microsoft Azure Hosting Services. This transition reduced the administrative burden of managing on-premises systems, lowered capital costs, and improved network accessibility and stability. It also enabled scalable IT resources and a flexible, cloud-first approach.
Agile IT solutions and enhanced user experience
During onboarding, CBIZ worked closely with staff to refine solutions using real-time feedback. When the initial cloud desktop model didn’t fully meet user needs, CBIZ quickly pivoted to a Microsoft Intune and local devices approach, enhancing the overall user experience.
Microsoft Intune for workstation administration
By leveraging Intune, the organization deployed and immediately utilized 75 new laptop devices seamlessly. Autopilot provided a branded enrollment experience, while Intune deployed applications, security features, and other administrative improvements. This transition replaced a manual, image-based rollout process with a zero-touch provisioning model that can be quickly adapted to changing requirements.
Advanced security measures
CBIZ implemented a thorough security strategy focused on protecting data and networks. By leveraging advanced security measures such as proactive threat detection, multi-layered protection, and continuous monitoring, CBIZ enhanced the client’s overall security posture without introducing unnecessary complexity.
Comprehensive IT support and partnership
With a white-glove approach, CBIZ offers proactive, ongoing support, including regular check-ins, rapid issue resolution, and strategic IT planning. This high-level assistance has eased pressure on internal IT staff and strengthened confidence in the long-term IT roadmap.
