Trey Stevens

Trey Stevens is a Director in the Forensic Consulting Group at CBIZ. He oversees and updates the firm’s national quality control (QC) policies, procedures, and standards, working closely with national service line leadership. Trey serves as the quality control reviewer for reports, national peer reviewer of valuations, and decision-maker for valuation dispute resolutions. Additionally, he is a member of the firm’s ESOP Fairness Opinion Committee.

With over 30 years of experience, Trey specializes in business valuations, intangible asset valuations, goodwill impairment testing, and economic damage calculations. His expertise encompasses transaction pricing, tax planning, financial reporting, bankruptcy, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution. He has provided expert witness testimony for depositions, arbitrations, and trials in cases involving bankruptcy, breach of contract, economic damages, marital dissolution, and related matters.

Trey has been deeply involved with the American Society of Appraisers (ASA), serving as vice-chair (2009–2015) and chair (2017–2022) of the ASA International Board of Examiners. He continues to be an advisor and remains active in business valuation education, course development, and accreditation. He is also a member of the ASA Business Valuation Education Subcommittee and the International Institute of Business Valuers Education Committee.
