Heather Brown

Heather is a member of the Tax Group and the New England Private Equity & Venture Capital Practice. She has more than 15 years of experience providing services to the private equity industry, with a focus in U.S. Federal tax withholding and operational excellence.

Heather has extensive experience working with Internal Revenue Code Chapter 3 compliance, U.S. Withholding Certifications, the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) under Chapter 4 and the OECD’s Common Reporting Standard (CRS).  She assists clients in analyzing their investor base and onboarding procedures to determine best practices and filing requirements. Prior to joining CBIZ & CBIZ CPAs*, she spent nearly 15 years working at one of the largest global private equity investment managers.

Heather is actively involved with Brookwood Community Farm in Canton, MA.  She volunteers her time overseeing the financial aspects, planning the annual budget, managing cash boxes, washing the laundry, and serving as a back up to run the farm stand and generally helping out whenever called upon. She is also an active member in the community supported agriculture model, a proud owner of locally sourced vegetable and fruit shares.
