A construction engineering firm installed new software systems to better manage its business operations. It sought to retrain its existing employees on these new systems while staying within its training budget allocation.
Solution
CBIZ worked with the company’s staff to prepare a training plan that outlined goals, objectives and strategies to develop the skills of the company’s existing employees on the new systems. Our state grants team incorporated the plan into an application for grant funding to offset a portion of the costs connected with the training. We handled the administrative aspects of applying for and facilitating the training grant, including completing and submitting the application paperwork on behalf of the company, documenting the training expenses and assisting with the reimbursement process.
Outcome
The economic development agency in the state in which the company was located awarded the company a $67,000 training grant to train the employees on the new software systems. Through CBIZ’s grant and incentive experience, the company received reimbursement for training in a cost-effective way with a minimum level of staff involvement.
