A start-up, venture-backed company preparing for an IPO had its CFO leave the company due to unforeseen circumstances. This individual was expected to play a major role in assisting with all IPO preparation, including filing the Form S-1.

The CBIZ accounting advisory team had grown with the company from its inception, and our historical knowledge helped bridge the knowledge gap created by the CFO’s departure. We had assisted with creating the company’s internal reporting to prepare for two years of financial statement audits, which allowed us to seamlessly step in to assist management and the finance team with the IPO preparation. CBIZ worked with management to draft the Form S-1 and transition the manual stock-based compensation calculations to a web-based platform (for both the private company and public company model).

Our support led to a successful Form S-1 filing and IPO as well as an automation of the administration of stock awards. The automation helped establish reporting efficiencies for the long term.
