Complex transactions appeared well on their way to recovery in late 2020, with both deal count and deal volumes reaching 10-year highs for the fourth quarter. Some of the uptick in activity may be attributable to the desire to close deals before the end of the year. The healthy deal-making environment may also be indicative of recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic’s disruption.
