Minimum Wages are Increasing

Minimum Wage - Effective September 30, 2024

Florida

  • Hourly minimum wage: $13.00 (up from $12.00) 
  • Minimum Cash Wage for tipped employees $9.98 (up from $8.98)

Minimum Wage - Effective July 1, 2024

District of Columbia

  • Hourly minimum wage: $17.50 (up from $17.00) 
  • Minimum Cash Wage for tipped employees $10.00 (up from $8.00)

Nevada

  • Hourly minimum wage: $12.00 regardless of if health benefits are offered or not. (up from $10.25 for organizations that offer health benefits and up from $11.25 for those who do not offer health benefits)

Oregon

  • State Hourly minimum wage: $14.50 (up from $14.20) 
  • Portland Metro Area minimum wage: $15.95 (up from $15.45)
  • Nonurban Counties minimum wage: $13.70 (up from $13.20)

Minimum Wage - Effective January 1, 2024

Alaska

  • Hourly minimum wage: $11.73 (up from $10.85)

Arizona

  • Hourly minimum wage: $14.35 (up from $13.85) 
  • Tipped employee hourly minimum cash wage: $11.35 (up from $10.85) based on a maximum tip credit of $3.00.

California

  • Hourly minimum wage: $16.00 (up from $15.50) 

Colorado

  • Hourly minimum wage: $14.42(up from $13.65) 
  • Tipped employee minimum wage $11.40 (up from $10.63)

Connecticut

  • Hourly minimum wage: $15.69  (up from $15.00) 
  • Tipped employee minimum wage: $5.77
  • Bartender minimum wage: $2.90

Delaware

  • Hourly minimum wage: $13.25 (up from $11.75) 
  • Minimum Cash Wage $2.23 (unchanged) based on a maximum tip credit $11.02 (up from $9.52) 

Hawaii

  • Hourly minimum wage: $14.00 (up from $12.00) 

Illinois

  • Hourly minimum wage: $14.00 (up from $13.00) 
  • Tipped-worker minimum hourly cash wage: $8.40 (up from $7.80) based on a minimum tip credit of $5.60.

Maine

  • Hourly minimum wage: $14.15 (up from $13.80) 
  • Portland Hourly minimum wage: $15.00 (up from $14.00)
  • Tipped Employee hourly minimum: $7.08 (up from $6.75)
  • Portland Tipped Employee hourly minimum: $7.50 (up from $7.00)

Maryland

  • Employers with at least 15 employees’ hourly minimum wage: $15.00 (up from $13.25). 
  • Employers with no more than 14 employees’ hourly minimum wage: $15.00 (up from $12.80). 
  • Employers with at least 15 employees Tipped Employee hourly minimum: $3.63 based on a maximum tip credit of $11.37 (up from $9.62).
  • Employers with no more than 14 employees Tipped Employee hourly minimum: $3.63 based on a tip credit of $11.37 (up from $9.17).

Michigan

  • Hourly minimum wage: $10.33 (up from $10.10) 
  • Tipped employee hourly minimum: $3.93 (up from $3.84)

Minnesota

  • Large employers hourly minimum wage Indexed for Inflation: $10.85 (up from $10.59)
  • Small employers hourly minimum wage Indexed for Inflation: $8.85 (up from $8.63)

Missouri 

  • Hourly minimum wage: $12.30 (up from $12.00)

Montana

  • Hourly minimum wage Indexed for Inflation: $10.30 (up from $9.95)

Nebraska

  • Hourly minimum wage: $12.00 (up from $10.50)
  • Tipped employee hourly minimum: $2.13 (unchanged)  

New Jersey

  • Small employer minimum wage $13.93 (up from $12.93)
  • Seasonal employers hourly minimum wage: $13.93 (up from $12.93)
  • Agricultural employers hourly minimum wage: $12.81 (up from $12.01)
  • General hourly minimum wage: $15.13 (up from $14.13)
  • Long-term care facility direct care staff members $18.13
  • General Tipped Employee hourly minimum: $5.26 (unchanged $5.26) 

    New York

    • New York City $16.00 (up from $15.00)
    • Nassau, Suffolk & Westchester counties $16.00 (up from $15.00)
    • Rest of state $15.00 (up from $14.20)

    Ohio

    • Hourly minimum wage, employers with annual gross receipts of at least $371,000: $10.45 (up from $10.10)
    • Hourly minimum wage, employers with annual gross receipts less than $371,000: $7.25 (unchanged)
    • Tipped Employee hourly minimum: $5.25 (up from $5.05)

    Rhode Island

    • Hourly minimum wage: $14.00 (up from $13.00)
    • Tipped Employee hourly minimum: $3.89 

    South Dakota

    • Hourly minimum wage: $11.20 (up from $10.80)
    • Tipped Employee hourly minimum: $5.60 (up from $5.40) 

    Vermont

    • Hourly minimum wage: $13.67 (up from $13.18)
    • Tipped Employee hourly minimum: $6.84 (up from $6.59)

    Washington 

    • Hourly minimum wage: $16.28 (up from $15.74)
