CBIZ Food Drive 2016: Vote hunger out of office

Since 2009, CBIZ employees have donated enough food to fill 56 18-wheeler semi-trucks – and we’re back at it again!

The annual CBIZ Food Drive kicks off today, and over the next two weeks, our goal is to collect at least 900,000 pounds of food to donate to food pantries in the communities we serve across the country. It’s not an unachievable goal, as last year we collected more than 1 million pounds!

Our theme this year is Decision 2016: Vote to End Hunger, and we’re certain this is a platform everyone can get behind.

CBIZ employees are known for being passionate, and the Food Drive lets that competitive spirit shine. We’ve challenged the participants at our 100+ offices nationwide to collect the most nonperishable food items and/or make monetary donations ($1 equals five pounds of food). After the contest concludes on Nov. 11, we’ll name winners in several categories.

Our offices are divided into small (1-20 employees), medium (21-59 employees) and large (60+ employees) categories.

The two top-collecting offices in each category will receive a cash donation to their local food pantries. The first-place offices will receive a half-day of vacation time, and the second-place winners will receive a breakfast or lunch for the whole office.

We will also award prizes for the top three food displays based on our theme. Check out last year’s winners and some of the creative displays they put together here.

Lastly, our most-improved offices in each category will be treated to a breakfast or lunch.

We know one way to “make America great again” and to make the country “stronger together” is to eradicate hunger in our local communities, and our employees are proud and excited to kick off this year’s Food Drive.
