After a stellar 2013 Food Drive, during which our firm surpassed the cumulative 2.5 million pound mark, CBIZ offices from across the country are coming together to once again help collect food and donate money in their respective communities as part of CBIZ’s annual Food Drive.
Participants are being asked to “Stampede the Need” – this year’s theme – as about 80 offices across the country aim to collect 600,000 pounds of food between today and Nov. 14. We are asking employees to donate nonperishable food items such as soup, oatmeal and peanut butter, as well as monetary donations with a conversion rate of $1= 5 pounds of food.
Three categories of offices will compete against one another: small (1-15 employees), medium (16-55 employees) and large (56 or more employees).
As in the past, prizes will be awarded to the top offices in each group for the following categories. Click here for a list of last year’s winners and some highlights.
- Most Improved Offices over 2013
- Most Creative Display based on “Stampede the Need
- Most Creative Display based on any theme
- Top Collecting Office
The first place winners in the Top Collecting Offices category will receive a corporate cash donation to their local food bank and a one-half day vacation for all employees in that office. Second place winners will also receive a corporate cash donation to their local food bank and a breakfast or lunch for the entire office.
Of course, we’re looking forward to seeing everyone’s creativity and also to spur on some rivalries. For example, our Cleveland office is circulating “Wanted” posters featuring employees in the office. For $2 per poster, employees can pick a fellow colleague who is wanted for a “crime” and feature them on a poster throughout the office. Check out one of our first submissions.
Don’t forget to share your office’s progress during this year’s food drive using #CBIZFoodDrive, our official social media hashtag for the competition.
Best of luck to all of our participating offices, and be sure to keep an eye on the CBIZ blog for updates throughout the food drive and also an update on the winners after the Food Drive concludes.
