Michelle is a Managing Director in the Accounting and Auditing* Group at CBIZ & MHM New England (formerly CBIZ Tofias). She is a member of the Not-For-Profit & Education Practice. Prior to joining CBIZ & MHM in 2005 she was a Senior Manager in the Boston office of Grant Thornton LLP where she acted as the co-leader for the Boston higher education and not-for-profit practice.
Michelle has more than 25 years of audit experience and specializes in serving not-for-profit and higher education organizations, including managing financial statement and Federal Uniform Guidance audits; assisting in bond offerings; providing recommendations on internal controls, operations and accounting issues; assisting in board support and development; and training other accounting and auditing professionals to provide support to not-for-profit clients. Michelle leads our local Single Audit and Student Financial Aid Audit Practice and is the not-for-profit subject matter expert in our National Professional Standards Group. She has worked with numerous not-for-profit and higher education organizations in the New England area.
