Mike began his insurance career in 1985 as a Group Sales Representative with Met Life in Northern New Jersey. He then took a position with the Baltimore office of CIGNA in 1989 as a large group (200+) Account Manager.
Mike then moved to the benefits brokerage and consulting side of the industry when he took a position with BGS&G in Cumberland, Maryland in 1996. CBIZ acquired BGS&G in 1998 and Mike became the Practice Leader for CBIZ Mid-Atlantic. The practice has grown from $2.5 million in annual revenue to over $22 million through acquisitions and organic growth. One of his many responsibilities has been to integrate acquisitions into the division and has overseen seven such integrations since 2000. In 2011, Mike was named Business Unit President for CBIZ Mid-Atlantic Group and Retirement Practices and currently serves as a Senior Consultant.
Mike still has a host of direct clients, primarily large, self-funded groups.
