Phil Noftsinger serves as the Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller for CBIZ, Inc. (NYSE: CBZ), bringing with him 27 years of experience in accounting and employee services. Phil is responsible for all accounting functions for the entire company, specifically corporate finance, consolidations, internal controls, and financial planning and analysis.
Phil has been serving CBIZ for 15 years in a number of roles within the business. Through those years, in addition to his current role, Phil has served as the President of CBIZ's Employee Service Organization and President of CBIZ Payroll, the employee benefits and payroll processing business lines respectively. Before coming to CBIZ in September of 2004, Phil was controller of Fortegra, Incorporated., a highly specialized IT consultation and integration firm in the energy and health-care industries.
Phil is also the creator of the CBIZ Small Business Employment Index, which is a metric designed to gauge hiring in companies with less than 300 employees across the United States. Phil can be seen on Fox Business, CNBC and Bloomberg on occasion to discuss the state of small business hiring and employment. Phil’s comments on the state of small businesses have also been carried in multiple print and web outlets including Smart Money, Accounting Today and The Wall Street Journal.
Phil earned a bachelor’s degree in history from George Mason University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Strayer University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.
