Overview

Tarra is a Managing Director at CBIZ Tofias, the New England Division of CBIZ. She is a member of the Tax Group and leader of the State and Local Tax Practice. She was previously a Senior Manager in Ernst & Young’s State and Local Tax Group in the Boston office. Tarra services clients in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island and has nearly 20 years of experience in the tax industry. She has managed state and local tax services for major corporate clients including comprehensive multi-state income tax planning, nexus reviews, state due diligence reviews, state acquisition/disposition structuring, state income tax and sales/use tax audit management, as well as multi-state voluntary disclosure projects.

In addition to her state and local tax expertise, she delivers a variety of federal and international tax services to her multinational New England area clients with a focus in the manufacturing, communications. technology, and life sciences industries. Tarra is well versed in the many aspects of federal and international taxation including tax planning and minimization, tax risk management, as well as transfer pricing. Tarra also assists her client base in navigating ASC 740 (formerly FAS 109), ASC 740-10 (formerly FIN 48) and ASC 450 (formerly FAS 5) accounting issues and managing their effective tax rate.

Tarra is frequently quoted in articles on state and local tax issues, including in publications such as State Tax Notes, SmartMoney, and The Providence Journal.
