Don Reiser serves as the International Practice leader for the New York office. He has more than 30 years experience providing international tax consulting services to public and privately-held U.S. and foreign-based corporations as well as foreign individuals and businesses investing in the United States. Working closely with clients that span a variety of industries, Don addresses a broad range of domestic and foreign tax matters.
Don’s extensive experience includes advising U.S. and foreign clients on the tax implications of cross-border mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, international joint ventures, reorganizations, cross-border financings, and post-deal integration transactions.
Don has an in-depth background designing and implementing tax efficient global business structures involving contract and toll manufacturing arrangements, limited risk sales and distribution structures, holding and finance companies, foreign tax credit optimization, intellectual property ownership and exploitation, cash redeployment, and the repatriation of offshore earnings.
Don shares his expertise as a speaker on various international tax topics to industry groups. Prior to joining the company, he was an international tax partner at a large law firm and a “Big 4” accounting firm. Earlier in his career, Don was a law clerk for a judge on the U.S. Tax Court.
