Nick Chertock, CPA, has nearly 20 years of experience in public accounting in the San Francisco Bay Area, working as a tax advisor primarily assisting high net worth families, small business owners, and Trusts/Estates. He has extensive experience working with Real Estate sales professionals and their clients, as well as technology executives with complex equity compensation issues. He aims to be a trusted advisor and understand his clients’ entire financial picture. Nick enjoys simplifying complex tax topics, while working with the clients’ other advisors to form a team that will structure their financial affairs to create the best tax outcome.
Nick previously worked as a Senior Tax Manager at Vavrinek, Trine, Day & Co. (now part of Eide Bailly), managing client relationships and reviewing individual and business tax returns for wealthy families, including professional investors. There, he handled the majority of the Estate & Trust tax matters for the Palo Alto office. Before this, Nick was with Seiler’s San Francisco office for two years as a Senior Tax Manager, handling tax planning and compliance matters. He also worked with affluent local families and their closely-held businesses on Estate & Trust and divorce forensic accounting matters for the boutique San Francisco tax firm, Krohn & Co, for over 13 years.
Nick earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics from The University of San Diego in 1997. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the California State Society of CPAs.
In his free time, Nick can be found with his wife and three daughters in the East Bay at one of their sporting events, camping in the woods, or on the golf course.
