Eric has been a Senior Benefits Consultant for 14 years with CBIZ. His responsibilities include long range strategic planning, corporate benefit compliance, financial projections, claims reporting, vendor management and trend/claims analysis, as well as responsibility for the management of each client relationship and the CBIZ team in place to take care of them. Most recently, Eric has been named the Market Leader for Southern Arizona responsible for the entire workforce of 35 employees and overall P&L responsibility for the agency.
Mainly consulting with CEO, CFO and Senior HR professionals of mid to large employers, Eric works with each one in developing a long range strategic plan for the procurement, delivery and communication of all welfare benefit plans. Eric also assists in developing communications of these plans to the employees covered by each policy through various electronic and print means.
Eric works with Arizona based and multi-state employers, both private and public. Current clients range in size from 40-8,500. He has experience in working with collective bargaining agreements as well as being responsible for and serving on due diligence and acquisition/divestiture teams for multiple clients. Currently licensed in nearly 20 states, Eric maintains those licenses with extensive continuing and professional education.
A former collegiate and professional golfer, Eric successfully achieved the status of GCAA All-American at BYU (1993 - 94) and held playing rights as a professional on 4 worldwide tours including the PGA Tour 1999 - 2000 (Nike and Buy.com Tour). He played in over 185 professional events, holds 5 course records and continues as a successful amateur golfer in state and national events.
As a professional golfer, Eric secured and maintained ESR Tour, a financing mechanism to provide for the professional golf playing opportunity. Eric secured 24 private individuals to sponsor his professional golf pursuits. With that each sponsor received quarterly communications, annual financial recaps, and an overall return on their invested monies.
Personal and Family
Eric has been married for 21 years to an amazing woman, Christina Lynn (Corbett) Rustand. They have 4 children: Austin (18), Abigail (15), Caroline (12) and Jackson (10).
Each one of the children has many different skills, qualities and characteristics which keep Mom and Dad occupied and engaged in their pursuits. Tina spends most of her time volunteering in the children’s schools where she is an officer on two PTSA’s and a member of the third.
Eric and Tina feel very strongly about public education for their children and have been engaged in the site and selection committees of elementary through high school educators and coaches.
