Branson has been in the health insurance industry for over 21 years in Arizona. He most recently joined CBIZ as a Vice President for Employee Benefits. Branson partners with employers to develop cost-effective, sustainable benefit strategies. Before joining CBIZ, Branson was with Aetna for over 5 years where he had several roles within Sales. His most recent role was as Aetna’s Sales Vice President. Branson led business development efforts for Aetna’s Public and Labor segment in Arizona. He was committed to developing and cultivating strong long-term relationships with key constituents (producers, plan sponsors, and community leaders) to support the health of Arizona’s communities, schools, and unions. And as an Aetna Account Executive for Public and Labor, his responsibilities included overall service and account management for his clients. This included effectively developing strategic relationships with his clients by understanding their needs and proposing appropriate solutions. He was responsible for the financial aspects of the relationship and partnered with his clients to effectively price the most appropriate benefit solutions. He managed the team of professionals who were responsible for the day-to-day administration and implementation to ensure that Aetna exceeded the service expectations set by his clients.
Before Aetna, Branson spent 13 years with Cigna in various roles. First, as a Medical/Dental Underwriter, he transitioned to sales as a Senior Account Executive. In this position for 6 years, he was responsible for the overall account management of his clients. He worked with large public and private clients in a variety of capacities, which included benefit program strategy and design, utilization and reporting, and ongoing plan management. His underwriting background has assisted him with identifying utilization trends as well as his financial discussion internally and externally.
