Mr. Moentmann is the managing director for the Central Region of CBIZ Valuation Group. His responsibilities include managing all aspects of financial consulting, valuation and litigation assignments. His additional responsibilities include business development, staff management and overall firm development for the region.
Mr. Moentmann has served the valuation industry for nearly 20 years. He is experienced in the valuation of businesses for merger and acquisitions, employee stock ownership plans, litigation support, financial reporting, shareholder disputes, marital dissolution, estate tax and estate planning purposes. He also values other financial instruments including debt, preferred stock, warrants and options. Mr. Moentmann works with privately held businesses as well as Fortune 100 companies and has valued both foreign and domestic entities ranging in size from less than $500,000 in sales to over $1 billion. His valuation experience encompasses numerous industries, including healthcare, retail, restaurant, printing and manufacturing industries. Mr. Moentmann has facilitated dozens of transactions. His efforts range from consulting buyers/sellers regarding value to assisting buyers/sellers in the negotiation process to facilitating the complete transaction (identification of buyers/sellers, valuation, negotiation, tax structure, due diligence, etc.).
Prior to joining CBIZ Valuation Group, Mr. Moentmann was the practice leader at CBIZ Accounting, Tax & Advisory of St. Louis LLC and responsible for valuation services in St. Louis and Kansas City, which included quality assurance, management of ongoing engagements and client development. He also served as the technical advisor to the CBIZ offices in Omaha, Wichita and various other offices in Kansas. Prior to CBIZ, Mr. Moentmann was the manager responsible for business valuation and consulting within the Arthur Andersen St. Louis Valuation Services Group. He performed business valuations for merger and acquisition planning, corporate reorganizations and bankruptcies, litigation support and estate and gift tax purposes. He was also responsible for transfer pricing studies and for the valuation of intangible assets (trademarks, patents, covenant not to compete, etc.) for financial and tax reporting purposes.
Mr. Moentmann earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Washington University and his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is a CFA charterholder, as awarded by the CFA Institute, as well as a member of the CFA Institute.
