It is our pleasure to sponsor this breakfast and panel discussion on the topic, “Nonprofits & Businesses Working Together to Find Solutions,” complementing the printed Baltimore Business Journal June 26th Philanthropy Awards feature. The panel, led by moderator Amy Coates Madsen, will discuss how nonprofits can better engage the business community beyond the initial dollar investment. Amy Coates Madsen is the Director of the Standards for Excellence Institute, a national initiative to promote the highest standards of ethics and accountability in nonprofit governance, management, and operations, and to facilitate adherence to standards by all organizations. The Standards for Excellence Institute is a program of Maryland Nonprofits where Amy has served for nearly 20 years. Amy is active in community organizations and also serves as an appointed member of the IRS Advisory Committee on Tax-Exempt and Government Entities. Panelists include Andy Bertamini, Regional President, Wells Fargo; Kenneth Banks, President, Banks Contracting Company Inc.; Kelly Hodge Williams, Executive Director, Business Volunteers Unlimited; and Lisa Rusyniak, President & CEO, Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake Inc.
