Cautious optimism about the future is the overarching theme of the technology and life sciences survey conducted by CBIZ and Mayer Hoffman McCann P.C. The majority of respondents said they plan to hire more employees and expand domestically in the next 24 months. Most companies cite growth as the end goal for their company, and less than a third plan to exit in the next three years.
At the same time, industry leaders anticipate hurdles along the path to their objectives, namely when it comes to their workforce. More than 70 percent of surveyed companies identified finding qualified workers as the biggest challenge to their business continuity. A little less than half say there are not enough qualified applicants entering the job market.
